Broomstick lace was traditionally made using a crochet hook and a broom handle. It originated in the 19th century and produces a lovely lacy effect.
Come along and learn the basics of this addictive style of crochet in this 3 hour workshop, using a crochet hook, a large knitting needle and aran yarn.
We will be crocheting a variety of stitches that can be combined to create different Broomstick crochet effects.
Previous crochet knowledge is essential for this class - you will need to be comfortable with your handhold, tension and basic stitches in crochet.
You will need to bring or purchase a 5mm crochet hook and 50-100g of aran weight yarn. We will provide your broomstick (a large knitting needle) and light refreshments.
Your tutor for this class will be Denise Pigott from Peeko Crochet. Denise is a very experienced tutor who has taught thousands of people to crochet successfully.
