Knitting Colourwork - The Easy Way
- Day 1
10:30am, (ends 4:30pm)
6 places available
This course aims to help those knitters who may be daunted by the traditional ways of knitting with colour such as Fairisle and Intarsia.
All the techniques covered in this workshop use just ONE colour per row - no more tangles!
We cover basic colourwork (with two or three colours) on stripes, slip stitch techniques, the ‘Mosaic’ technique, a ‘woven look’ technique, yarn floats, cables, tuck and other novelty stitches.
Reading colour charts is also covered.
You will need to bring the following:
- A pair of 4mm needles & a pair of 4mm double pointed needles
- And/or one short/medium length 4mm circular needle to be used in rows, we won’t be working in the round.
- DK yarn in two or three colours.
You will also need to bring or purchase a packed lunch. We will provide refreshments (plenty of cake!) throughout the day.
Your tutor for this class will be Carol Ibbetson. Carol works with many of the big publishers as a technical editor and pattern grader for knitting and crochet books. She is also a designer in her own right with a passion for sharing her skills.
