Feature Packed Messenger Bag
- Day 1
11:00am, (ends 4:00pm)
5 places available
In this all day workshop we will create a stylish and professional looking messenger bag. This class will cover a wide range of techniques including making an adjustable strap and inserting an internal zipped pocket. We will also learn how to follow a cutting diagram to prepare our fabric using a rotary cutter and ruler.
This class is only suitable for those with some previous machine sewing experience. In order to achieve a high quality finish, you will need to be able to create reasonably accurate seam lines. It would be a great follow on from our Easy Messenger Bag or Shopper’s Tote Bag workshops.
If you are unsure if this class would be suitable, please get in touch using our Contact Us page.
You will need to bring 1m of fabric for the main bag and 0.5m of a contrast fabric for the flap and other highlights. These fabrics should be 100% cotton quilting or light home decor weight fabric at least 110cm/42” wide. High quality metal hardware will be supplied along with interfacing and use of our Janome J3-18 sewing machines.
We will have a short half hour lunch break so you will need to bring a packed lunch. Alternatviely there is a cafe in Notcutts and there is also a Tesco superstore and a McDonalds on the site.
Your tutor for this class will be Ana Dugdale. Ana is a City and Guilds qualified tutor with extensive sewing experience particularly in the field of patchwork and quilting.
