I can’t believe there’s less than a week to go until our Stitch Up event! Preparations are well under way, our stall holders are putting the finishing touches to their stock and Mandy is busy baking plenty of cake to keep us energised while we shop. Doors open at 10am next Saturday, October 25th.
We have 4 stall holders making up our mini marketplace.
- Hilltop Cloud – hand dyed fibre and spinning accessories. This is Katie’s last show of the year and she has promised plenty of end of season bargains. She will also be holding spinning demonstrations throughout the day.
- Rosie’s Moments – hand dyed and hand painted yarn. She has a range of gorgeous colours on squooshy and where possible British bases.
- Quince Pie – sewn project bags, needle cases and spinning aprons. Prepare for your next project in style!
- Charlie Whitford -quirky crocheted homewares and accessories. I’ve had an advanced peek at some of Charlie’s items and they’re fab.
Unfortunately Babylonglegs has had to withdraw from the event but I’m sure you’ll agree that there is still lots to tempt you.
I’ve been busy stitching up lots of samples to inspire you including the Pen and Ink Cowl by Inspiration Knits shown here. We will have access to Ravelry available to help find the perfect patterns for your new purchases.
Our workshop will be transformed into a friendly space to knit and chat with old friends and maybe make some new ones. We will have light refreshments available for a small donation and Notcutts cafe will be open all day if you need something more substantial.
The main shop is set up to accept payment by cash and card but if you want to purchase from our stall holders, I would recommend bringing some cash. Don’t worry if you forget though, there are cashpoints available on site by Tescos.
We’re so looking forward to welcoming you all for an exciting day of fibre, friends and fun! If you have any questions, get in touch using our Contact Us page.
The weather has been feeling decidedly more autumnal over the last couple of days and we’ve had a bit of a reorganisation in store to reflect the changing seasons. When you walk in, you will be greeted with two bookshelves full of gift ideas. These include the Hawthorn Handmade kits I talked about last time, kits to knit your own dog, kits from Bergere de France and plenty of child friendly introduction to sewing, knitting and crochet kits.
By the till we have gift ideas for under £10 including some of our own beautifully packaged kits to make felt flower brooches, button bracelets and more. These would make great stocking fillers or presents in a Secret Santa swap.
FInally, we’ve rearranged the biggest unit to draw more attention to some of the gorgeous 4ply and DK yarns that we stock. These include new colours in Fyberspates Scrumptious 4ply, Cumulus and Vivacious DK. Plus soft and eye catching yarns from Lang, UK Alpaca and Sweet Georgia. These are great for knitting up a shawl or perhaps a pair of fingerless mitts to keep you warm as the new season approaches.
