The weather has started feeling decidedly autumnal over the last few days so I suppose that means it’s the start of the knitting season. Personally I knit constantly all year round but I know for many it is an autumn and winter past time.
To mark the change of season, we’ve had a bit of a change of layout. All our yarns are now arranged in weight order starting with lace and working right round to super chunky. Hopefully this will make it easier for you to find the perfect yarn for your next project.
This has allowed us to make space for the first of a series of new yarns that will be available to tempt you. Baby Milk by Laines du Nord is an unusual blend of 70% wool and 30% milk fiber. The milk fiber is derived from casein, the main protein in milk.
This makes the yarn incredibly soft and suitable for the most delicate skin. It has antibacterial properties making it perfect for baby garments and accessories. It is also machine washable and can be ironed on a low setting making is practical as well as luxurious.
There are 20 colours ranging from pale pastels to subtle neutrals with the odd bright pop. The red is fabulous! The yarn comes in 25g balls each containing 100m and costs £3.25.
The yarn is supported by a range of 12 individual patterns priced at £3 each. They include booties, blankets and a selection of super cute outfits.
While the yarn is a 4ply, many of the garments use the yarn held doubled so will knit up quickly on 5mm needles.
I just need to choose which pattern to knit as a store sample. Which is your favourite?
