I am completely in love with the latest fabric range from Makower that has just arrived. Pirates is, as the name suggests, a wonderful collection of child friendly swashbucklers fetauring skulls and crossbones, ships and treasure maps.
There are 8 print fabrics in the range which are (clockwise from top left):
- Icon scatter on cream
- Icon scatter on blue
- Skull and crossbones on red
- Skull and crossbones on black
- Treasure map
All fabrics are £14/m or £3.50 for a fat quarter.
The range is supported by a stunning quilt designed by Lynne Goldsworthy of Lily’s Quilts.
The free quilt pattern is available to download, or ask in store for a printed copy.
This is an intermediate to advance level project featuring foundation paper piecing, Y seams and raw edge applique as well as relatively advanced and complicated cutting instructions. Having seen this quilt in person, I can assure you that it is well worth the effort involved. If you need help, there are links to tutorials for the techniques within the quilt pattern.
We have kits featuring all the fabrics needed for the quilt top and binding along with a printed copy of the pattern for £65.
If you don’t want to tackle a full quilt, there is also a bunting panel priced £8.
The bunting panel instructions are also free to download. Each panel consists of sixteen printed flags. These can be used together to make eight completed flags or as sixteen flag fronts with an additional 60cms of backing fabric.
We still have 20% off fabric during April so why not pop in next week and take advantage of this great saving?
